Quinton Jackson’s Leg Okay

MMAJunkie Says:

With no serious damage done to his left leg, former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson is expected back in the gym Monday.

Apparently, most of the damage was not to his knee as it appeared in the fight, but to his shin.

“After the fight, he had a knot the size of a cantaloupe on his shin,” Jackson’s trainer, Juanito Ibarra, told MMAjunkie.  “I’ve never seen anything like it in all the years I’ve been in the fight game. It was ugly. The next day it went down. Today, there’s no bump at all. The doctor said he’s fine. It’s a deep bone bruise now. He’s totally fine. There’s no damage. All we’re waiting for now is the rematch.”

I guess that clears the way for a possible re-match by year end.  There is a lot of speculation as to when the two can fight again, but we will just have to wait and see.  I believe that Jackson’s trainer is correct that the judges screwed up this fight, especailly 2 of them giving round one to Forrest, and I would not protest a re-match, however I would love to see Jackson vs. Wanderlei III.  Glad to hear though that the damage to Jackson’s leg is not as bad as it appeared.
