Chris Wilson posted on his myspace account that he was fighting at UFC 94 and would be facing a newcomer. This is what Wilson said:
I can’t wait!!! It’s been just over 3 years since I fought in Vegas for the first and only time. Now I get to return to that arid place to battle it out again. The UFC has just confirmed that I will be fighting **** “********” ****** at the MGM Grand on January 31st at UFC 94. I have printed, signed and faxed the bout agreement to them. So… Who’s going?
Fill in the blanks and that newcomer may have been found. Yesterday, it was reported from FiveOuncesofPain that the UFC had signed talented weltwerweight fighter John “Doomsday” Howard to a contract. Also, it was mentioned that Howard would likelly debut at UFC 94. So, fill the name in the blank, it fits…trust me, I tried it. This of course is not official, but is highly likely. Howard has lost fights to Nick Catone and Dan Miller, but those losses were at 185 lbs. He is signed as a welterweight (170 lbs.)
Howard is a good add to the UFC welterweight division, but he is welcomed to the octagon by a very tough fighter in Chris Wilson, who is 1-1 in the UFC. Wilson losses his UFC debut to Jon Fitch, but rebounded with an impressive win over Steve Bruno at UFC 87.
UFC 94 is stacked. The headliner will be the superfight between lightweight champ B.J. Penn and welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre for the welterweight title. Also, we will see fights like: Thiago Silva vs. Lyoto Machida, Jon Fitch vs. Akihiro Gono, Karo Parisyan vs. Dong Hyun Kim, Nate Diaz vs. Clay Guida, and Stephan Bonnar vs. Jon Jones.
